Sooo, I Am Alive...

Journal Entry: Sat Mar 29, 2008, 12:42 PM
I have much to tell you all... this time mostly goodnews

It has been nearly a month since I last spoke with you all, and much has happened.

As far as school goes, I recently won a statewide writing competition. A fairly good sized competition, and he funny thing is I did not put much effort into the piece. I even found a typo, because I went back and read it after they told me I won, I forgot what I had written. The next week I took a third in a state regional science student competition. I took third in ecology... ecospheres and biomes and symbiosis, oh my! I also have other academic news, but I am delaying that announcement for some time still.

Easter went off well, I almost killed my family. I almost gave them a heartattack when I showed up in a lovely white and blue strapless dress and white jacket, from Gap, as well as wedge heels. My mother's exact words were "Oh my, I do have a daughter after all" Now, I do not even know that i should be telling you all this, but I will. I wore pearls too, I mean pearls. I didn't know I owned pearls, let alone could wear them. So this Easter I basically looked like a brunette 1950's housewife. I looked good too though... moving on.

My epic quest for a horse is over!!! I am buying a 10 year old gelding named Cody. I am changing his showname, however, to Kodachrome (a brand of b/w film), because he is black and white. He is 16.3h (5'7") and weighs about 1500 pounds. He is a BIG BIG B-I-G boy. He passed his pre-purchase exam with flying colors, the vet loves him, and he comes home as soon as the insurance on him kicks in (it is always good to carry these sorts of things, as accident prone as horses tend to be). I am so very excited, hopefully I will have pictures soon.

I went out shooting over easter as well, and I have some new shots, all that is left now is uploading them, a process which is slightly different for me now, you see, I also just got a laptop. It is passed down from a family member who disliked it (who could ever dislike a several month old MacBook Pro?!). So I am still testing my limits in Leapord, and thinking about buying another camera. A little waterproof point and shoot, something I can personally victimize without having to worry about messing up my D80. One person compared it to a soldier not wanting to take their nice new expensive rifle to war, and mabe they are right, but this soldier cannot afford to break the trigger, or get water in the barrel of said nice expensive rifle.

I also finally launched my photography site. It is on another hosting site, but if I can start generating enough traffic, I might actually get something accomplished. The site is [link], if you have any suggestions, or like anything about the site, please let me know.

;p Well Most of my shots were done in very bright light, and those that were not I will admit were fumbled with in Photoshop Elements. I highly recommend the D80, I LOVE it.

Nikon D80.
I'm jealous.

You take beautiful photographs. It looks like your camera doesn't need flash, which is a HUGE plus.
